Add posts in WordPress
First, you need to "Log in" to your WordPress website admin dashboard to add a post.
You will find a vertical menu on the left-hand side of your dashboard. From there, look for "Posts" in the menu and click on "Add New" from the drop-down.
Next, you will be taken to the all-new "Gutenberg Editor" page which is a block-based editor.
I am using Divi theme builder on my website, so it is showing the option to use it. If you don't see it, don't worry. Simply click on the "Use Default Editor" option to continue.

As it is a block editor, you have to write your post content block by block. You can simply choose the block type by clicking on the "+" icon. Plus, there are blocks available for every module. Some of the block examples are heading, paragraph, list, image, video.
Click on the "Plus icon" and then search for the block you want. Select the block and then write your content.
The only problem with Gutenberg is the customization options. The customization options in Gutenberg editor are very limited, anyways you can use third-party plugins to extend its features.
Add categories and tags to a blog post
Categories and tags play an important role in SEO. So, don't forget to add a suitable category and tag to your posts in WordPress.
To add a category and tag, just click on the "Settings" icon in the top left corner of your screen. After clicking, you will find two tabs, Post and Block, just click on the post tab and scroll down until you find the category and tag section.

Publish a blog post
Now that you have written your blog post, the next thing you have to do is to publish the blog post. To do that, just look at the top-right corner of your screen and you will find a "Publish" button.
- Save draft: If you haven't finished writing your blog post, you can save it as a draft.
- Preview: You can also preview your blog post while writing. Three modes available in preview:
- Desktop
- Tablet
- Mobile
3. Publish: When you click on the publish button, you will find some options to publish.
- Visibility
- Public: Visible for all visitors to your website
- Private: Visible only to you
- Password protected: Protect your post with a password.
- Publishing time
- Immediately: To publish it immediately
- Schedule a date: Schedule a time to publish
By default, it will be public and immediate. If you want other options, you can choose and click on "Publish".
4. Settings: You will find a set of options to edit your post.
Edit blog posts in WordPress
To edit the blog post that you have published, go to Posts and click on "All Posts" from the drop-down. You will find a list of posts you have created so far. Click on the post you want to edit to go to the editor page.
When you hover over a blog post, you will find some options.
- Edit: You will be taken to the Gutenberg editor to edit the blog post.
- Quick edit: Quickly change the post name, categories and tags without leaving the page.
- Trash: Delete your blog post
- View: view your blog post

Display posts on Page
After writing the blog post, our main motive is to display it on our website. To do that, you need to have a page to display your blog post, if you don't know how to create a page, click here.
After creating the page, go to "Settings" and click on "Reading".
You will then be taken to the "Readings settings". Select the static page and choose a page for your Home and Posts page. After choosing, click on "Save changes" at the bottom. You can now view your blog posts on your chosen posts page.
Delete blog post
Deleting blog posts in WordPress is very easy. Go to Posts -> All posts and hover over the post you want to delete. You will find an option called "Trash". Just click on that and the blog post will be deleted.
If you want to delete more posts at the same time, select the posts by clicking on the check box and then click on "Bulk options" at the top. You will find an option to "Move to Trash". Just select that to delete all the selected blog posts.
After deleting the blog post, you will find a new option called "Trash" at the top. In that, you will find all your deleted posts.
If you have deleted any posts by mistake, just click on "Trash" at the top. Look for the post you need and you will find an option to "Restore" under your post. Click on that to restore your blog post.
